ABOUT US

Whatever we do, we strive to do well.

We have over 20 years of experience in the construction industry.

Prior to starting Decked Out Contracting, we owned a successful commercial construction company. These multi-million dollar commercial jobs might not seem to have much in common with your new deck, kitchen remodel, or bathroom remodel. But our experience designing, planning, and constructing those large scale projects gives us a greater understanding of how to get a job done right, on time, and within budget. At Decked Out Contracting, we also have experience in framing custom homes, roofing, designing and building decks, and remodeling kitchens, bathrooms, and everything in between. We know how to work with our suppliers to maximize your dollars and get you the most for your money. We maintained our relationships with our previous subcontractors and engineers and are forging new ones to best serve our clients.

You may be wondering “Why would you go from building multi-million dollar projects to decks and kitchen remodels? Isn’t that going backwards?” That’s a fair question. We loved our previous company, but for us, serving our former clients meant lots of travel. Essentially it was one of those life events that makes a person step back, look at life from a new perspective and reassess priorities. Jason wanted to spend more time at home and build projects for people on a more personal level. He wanted to establish personal relationships with clients and not just be a dollar amount at a bid opening. So we sold the company and after some time off, started Decked Out Contracting.

Naturally, Decked Out Contracting’s first clients have been our friends and family. But in working with all our clients on their dream decks, remodels, and home repairs, we hope to call them friends, too, creating that personal relationship that was missing from our commercial construction company. And we hope they’ll call Decked Out Contracting a friend as well. So if you’re looking for a contractor that values personal relationships, let’s build your decked out life!

Here's how we stand out from the crowd:

We’re on your team!  Working together, we can design and build the deck you’re dreaming of.  We forge relationships with suppliers, engineers, and subcontractors, adding them to the team and ensuring the success of your project.

Meet The Owners

Hi there!  We're Jason and Emily Hamlin, owners of Decked Out Contracting.

Decked Out Contracting owners

Jason's been in construction since he could sort nuts and bolts in his dad's garage.  After high school, he served his country in the United States Marine Corps.  He then graduated from WSU with an Electrical Engineering degree, putting himself through college on the GI Bill, framing houses, and providing building maintenance services for WSU.  Emily never ceases to be amazed at all the things Jason can do.  From designing to engineering and framing to finishing, he can do it all.  So when it was time for our next adventure, starting this contracting company was a no-brainer.

Emily takes care of all the bookkeeping and office support.  She worked as a paralegal for nearly a decade before taking some time off to be a stay at home mom.  She loved the legal field, but now loves partnering with Jason and working alongside him everyday.  They’re a great team!

We have 2 amazing kids who love to read, play games, and create music.  When we're not working on our clients' projects, you can find us on the boat soaking in the sun, cross-country skiing, watching movies, or taking our dog Cocco for a walk.
